What is a dental implant?
A dental implant replaces a natural tooth that has already been removed. The process of replacing a tooth with an implant comprises of three parts: the implant (root), the abutment (connects implant and crown), and the crown (top of the tooth). Watch the above video to see how Implants have positively affected one of our valued patients, Linda, and why she’s so glad she chose Dr. Chen.
What is necessary for a successful implant?
For a successful dental implant, healthy bones and gingiva (gums) are necessary. The quality and amount of bone in the potential dental implant site is crucial. Dr. Chen will assess the dental implant site using x-rays and an examination. Dr. Chen will also include a review of your medical and dental history.
Why dental implants?
Dental implants are the closest available option to replace missing teeth. Other options such as bridges and partial dentures would rely and perhaps damage other teeth. Please call Dr. Chen’s office to see if you are a candidate for dental implants.
What are mini dental implants?
Mini dental implants have been historically used for the stabilization of temporary teeth while standard dental implants are healing. They are typically much smaller in diameter than regular dental implants, therefore can generally withstand less biting force. Mini dental implants are commonly used due to its lower cost. During the consultation, you can discuss with Dr. Chen to see if mini dental implants are suitable for your needs.
